Begin Doing
Scott Miker
Walt Disney, one of the most successful individuals of all time, once said "The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." This quote highlights the importance of moving past the mental aspects of achieving success and taking action.
Many individuals, especially entrepreneurs, can get caught up in the planning stage and procrastinate taking action towards their goals. However, successful individuals tend to move beyond the planning stage quickly, testing the market and adjusting their plans as they go.
It's important to find a balance between planning and taking action. One should plan and think things through, but not get too caught up in it that they don't take action.
By taking responsibility for one's life and realizing that they have choices, even if they may not be ideal, they can make decisions that impact the direction of their life.
But what are the areas that hold you back? What are you waiting on? Are there ways to shift into action?
The best approach isn’t to dive in unprepared. But there are always small steps that you can take. This will build momentum.
Momentum is underrated. When you have that push behind you it feels as though you no longer have to fight agaist the current. You shift from being the engine to being the steering wheel.
Many athletes refer to a time during competition when they get into a state of flow. Everything seems to flow and they make every shot. Their body seems to glide along, always in the right spot to make a play.
Momentum doesn’t come in a flash. Flow isn’t possible for those who haven’t started yet. Therefore, take the advice from Disney and get started. Find small steps to take so you shift from planning and talking to action.
