It’s hard, but that’s a good thing
Scott Miker
For most of us, the things we want in life are things that we have to work hard for. If we want to be successful and happy we can achieve those goals, but it requires us to put in place the right steps to get us there.
It might seem as though successful people just happened to have the right skill and talent. For most people they view others as capable of reaching their goals, but not them.
In How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams, the author says, “If success were easy, everyone would do it. It takes effort. That fact works to your advantage because it keeps lazy people out of the game.”
That is a very interesting comment about success. While we may moan and groan about the steps we have to take and, the hard work, the disappointment, the challenges, etc. but those are the exact things preventing others also.
So the key isn’t that successful people simply had enough talent to not have to worry about hard work, the key is that the successful people were able to bring themselves to put in the extra effort and do the things most people aren’t willing to do.
So decide what you want out of life but realize that it will likely take time and effort to get you where you want to be. If it were easy, everyone would do it.
Therefore commit to taking the necessary steps towards your goals. Allow your self to experience the challenges and see them as part of the process. If you are working towards an improved version of yourself you will experience the hardships and challenges necessary to succeed.
So instead of looking at the challenges as an unfair obstacle that you have to face, realize that it is because of that obstacle that everyone doesn’t simply reach the same height.
This allows us to determine the height that we reach by being willing to take the necessary steps and do the hard work required.
